Photos are memories. Preserved.

Photography by definition is the art or practice of taking and processing photographs. Photography is art. Photography is the study of light. Photography is the study of human form. Photography is preserving memories. Photography is real life, stopped for an instant.

I ran into a quote that really hit home-

A birth certificate shows you were born

A death certificate shows you have died

Photographs show that you lived

Today we have access to images constantly. We have cellphones, consumer based camera’s, camera’s on every device you have. We have the internet and all the social media. We have cable TV. All are great with the connivence, but what is lost is the ART of imagery. Lost are the tangible photographs that hang on your wall to show your families story. Lost are the magazines and newspapers that we all used to read to get our daily fix of what is going on in the world. Now it is instant gratification from a like or heart. The images just fly by you as fast as they are posted, without that second thought of what is actually happening here.

I want to show that you have lived! I want to show that you are amazing! I want that image to last a lifetime, printed on your wall. I do not just take images that are scrolled by and liked and then that image remains on your phone for many years- forgotten.
